4 Years Old Backseat Driver

This morning, when I caught the last second green light and drove through a yellow light. My 4 years old boy yelled at me: "Mom! Did you go through YELLOW light?" I told him I caught the green light and through the yellow light and it is okay! He told me:" Mom, you know, YELLOW light is STOP sign, you can not go through the yellow light, you need to STOP! Mom, you forgot stop???" Oh, boy, my 4 years old tell me how to drive! "Big brother" is watching me! I am surprised that he is so DETAIL! Since I backed up to a truck in our parking lot last year, every time when I back up, my little backseat driver will tell me," Mom, be careful, don't hit the truck, don't hit anything." OK! Erik. Mommy knows how to drive!

Wish Flower

This evening, we went for a walk to the park. Erik saw a wish flower on the side, he picked it up carefully and said," hmmm... Wish flower! Make a wish, daddy come home." Yes, this is my wish too, I wish my husband come home very soon from Iraq.

We met a mother and her little girl at the park. Little girl is 5 years old that Erik just made a friend couple days ago. I was talking on the phone with my mother in-law and watching Erik at that time. He was playing Frisbee by himself at the park. He saw this girl with her parents walked by on the bike trail, Erik yelled," Hi" So this little girl stop by played with Erik and we just made friends. They live near by. This evening we met mother and little girl at the park. The mother told me her older son who was in Marine and on his 2ND tour to Iraq just killed about a month ago. My heart just getting heavy to hear this story because my husband also in Iraq. I came home did a little bit research and no so hard to find out this fallen hero's story. And I keep reading...and pray more...

Fired for NO REASON

Erik: Because...
Mom: Because what?
Erik: Because Erik say so.

Mom: What do you want for your birthday?
Erik: Yo-Yo... Roller skates.
Mom: That's it?
Erik: Ya... That's it! (and he think...)

Our Road Trip to Texas Troops

This is our first time travel to TEXAS. Mother & Son's trip with the Fergu___s! Many thanks to the Texas' Fergu___s for their warm hospitality and the Colorado Fergu___s's hard driving! Hey, Case, "Is that your butt still hurt?" Hopefully he would get a "bottom" massage from his honey wife that he hoped to!:)- Thanks again for the Callag___s took us out for a great Italian food! (We were so tired for the fast food on the road.) We were so enjoy this wonderful trip we had and also made me forget to worry about my husband who is in the Army and deployed to Iraq!

Day 1 (May 24 2007): From home (Colorado) to Broke Arrow, Oklahoma

The 3 kids where doing incredible good in the car on the long long drive! Go, little traveler!

Day 2 (May 25 2007): From Broke Arrow, Oklahoma to Granbury, Texas

Hu Ho!!! We were in TEXAS! we arrived about 5pm to the Texas Fergu___s' house in Granbury (about 40 minutes drive from Fort Worth.) The kids were cheering! Finally pulled our numb butt from the car! Oh, WAIT! The Texas Fergu___s wanted take us to a REAL Texan style BBQ! Sorry, Kids, go back to the car!

"Are your parents taking us back to Colorado for dinner?" Rachel asked Case! Boy, It took about 30 minutes drive to a REAL Texan style BBQ in the heavy rain! But it was worth the drive! Finally we were there (the LOCO COYOTE GRILL)! The BBQ ribs were SO GOOD! The best! Yummy! Finger licking good! You know I love to eat.

Day 3 (May 26,2007): From Granbury, Texas to Austin Texas.

We were arrived Austin at the evening. The mother & son went to tour around Austin downtown 6Th Ave. while the Fergu___s attending a wedding in Austin. I love it! My boy is so cute! He was posting on the street for a picture taking! It is NO where to eat with this under 21 yrs old boy on the 6Th Ave. in downtown Austin! My boy told me he was so so hungry. Finally we found the LOS VAQUEROS RESTAURANT welcome us! So I had my beer alone with my little one in the bar at the very first time in my life! Don't worry, he didn't have any beer! Before dinner, I saw a Salvation Army sign on the 7Th street. I thought maybe I could find some vintage cowboy boots in this thrift store. When we walked up there, I smelled it was SO wrong! "THIS is NOT a thrift store of Salvation Army! IT is a shelter." Oh, boy, it filled up with stinky smoking homeless peoples in front of the shelter! Better run! After dinner, we walked almost to the capital. It was a really nice evening with my boy touring in downtown Austin. (If I am alone appear on the picture that would be my boy's master piece! Not bad, huh?)

Day 4 (May 27,2007): Austin - Hico - Granbury

Small town - HiCo
Hico (pronounced "high-coh") is a city in Hamilton County, Texas. The population was 1,341 at the 2000 census. Each July, Hico hosts the Hico Old Settlers Reunion.
Ollie P. Roberts a/k/a "Brushy Bill", a resident of Hico, claimed to be Billy The Kid. Love this small historical town! LOTS antique stores! I told my friend, when I have a big house I will come back here shop for the antique furniture. Love the one that heavy wood antique dinner table made in France and its price tag is $2950! Found lots vintage cowboy boots and of cause they are too pricey.

We drove back to Granbury and having a BBQ dinner at home! Tasty!

Day 5 (May 28,2007): Granbury-Fort Worth-Arlington-Granbury

We are going to Fort Worth Stock Yards! This is the highlight of this trip for me. Love the cattle drive and the old building around on the stone street! I found the famous M.L. Leddy's boot maker's shop! But unfortunately it was closed for memory day! Gzzz, I need buy a pair of nice cowboy boots!:)-

We drove to Arlington, Texas a friend's house for a birthday party. The kids had great time to play with house full of little kids. Oh, boy. I was worn out by the kids' noisy.

Day 6 (May 29,2007): in town Granbury, Texas

Today we have a heavy rain and Stormy day. The 3 kids having fun collecting sea shells in grandma's bathroom and playing pretend doggy at home! when the sun finally came out at the evening, we had a chance to touring in town Granbury. Again, love this small town. The down town square surrounded by the little bouquet shops.

Day 7 (May 30,2007): Granbury, Texas to Albuquerque, New Mexico
After a long drive to Albuquerque, the Callag___s took us for a nice dinner. After get back to the hotel room. The kids all fell in a good night sleep. OK! Party time for the grow ups! Racel got 4 small bottles red wine from Walmart! That was fun night that we had!

Day 8 (May 31, 2007) Albuquerque, New Mexico to Colorado home

Home, home, sweet home. SO good to be home!!!
